This project is a display font made for the legendary Copenhagen jazz club Montmatre. The starting point for the font was tall, bold and narrow fonts, often found on old jazz sleeves. We wanted to make the font look like music, and made two alphabets inspired by notes jumping on sheets, the keys of a piano and jazz chords. Each letter have have a bit cut out of their form, which makes it possible to have the letters jump up and down resembling notes on sheet music. Having two different versions of each letter makes it easier having the letters jump as much, or as little, as you want. The font is to be used in large type, and for headings only. Made in cooperation with Clara Birgerson.
