Seasick poster

Harbour of culture (Kulturhavn) is a cultural event taking place along the harbor of Copenhagen. Every year the identity and look of the festival changes. For Kulturhavn I wanted to create a poster that had some sort of movement, that would make you take one more look, I wanted to create an identity that symbolized not just the ever moving ocean, but also the heaps of things taking place at the festival. I ended up with a poster based on an optical illusion. The shape and pattern of the "waves" makes the waves appear differently depending on the viewing distance. From far away it looks like lines flickering, but up close like waves. Despite looking like computer made graphics, the pictures underneath here are all photos taken from the actual printed poster.
